Herman Hoganson was born on 9 Dec 1882. His birth record shows his surname with the traditional Norwegian spelling, HAAGENSEN.

Though the date of this portrait is uncertain, it is likely that it may be a high school graduation picture.

Herman HOGANSON and the Twins

The following are two pictures of Herman HOGANSON that were clearly taken at the same time (c. 1908) and then printed onto postcards. In the first one he presumably is with his twin sisters, Clara and Mabel.

In the second one Herman is alone.

Interestingly on 28 Jul 1919, Herman sent this postcard from Barnesville, Minnesota to his older sister, Mina (HOGANSON) Roe, wishing her "birthday greetings." Mina's birthday was the 29th.

Herman and Ingeborg (Myrha) HOGANSON (5 Nov 1910)

The 1910 US Federal Census shows that by 16 Apr of that year, Herman had moved to Barnesville in Clay County, Minnesota, and was boarding with the Amandus Carlson family. Amandus and Herman were both working as salesman in a department store.

Herman HOGANSON passed away 12 Apr 1944 and was buried on 18 Apr in Kirkebo Cemetery in Perley, MN.

Herman's wife, Ingeborg (Myrha) HOGANSON, lived to be almost 100 years old and died on 11 Jan 1985.
